To prevent this and also to remain centered on locating the birds you would like to watch, I have created a summary of the very best 4 avian species to keep your eyes open for at the same time navigating the thick forests as well as jungles of the Yucatan. To help keep it tough for you, a few of these birds are typical and a few aren’t, therefore don’t sit around, get into the Yucatan wildlife as well as find what you went to see! The Ocellated Turkey is one of the strangest birds among the Yucatan wildlife. This mention turkey has a bluish-purple head with a dark purple beak. Its body is covered in the same turquoise feathers, however they appear to dance with the light if the day almost as if they were metallic. Its size is comparable to the wild American Turkey. It’s capable of flying due to its lightweight, wild Turkeys can fly unlike the usual belief that they can’t. The Ocellated Turkey will often be located in the open plains or hiding among some other wildlife in the heavy brush of the Yucatan.
Yucatan Birds
Yucatan Nightjar
A bird watcher can enjoy many opportunities in Yucatan wildlife. This bird is referred to as the Yucatan Nightjar. Actually, it is the Guatemalan version of the sparrow. It’s dark brown color spotted with bits of light brown and white disguise it properly in the forest canopies. In Guatemala this bird is common yet very hard to spot. Once you do locate one, don’t make any noise or rapid movements, just as the sparrow, they startle quickly and are very swift.
Red Vented Woodpecker
One other bird that you will enjoy seeing in the wildlife of Yucatan is the Red Vented Woodpecker. As opposed to its name the Red Vented Woodpecker is usually all white with only a red cap covering the top and back of its head. It’s only 6.5 inches tall and can simply be spooked away whenever given enough clatter. The perfect place to see this species of Yucatan wildlife is to look in thick shrubs and forest edges, as well as open areas that have small clumps of trees. Like several woodpecker, it sports the classic long beak to reach deep inside trees and fruit for squirming insects as well as worms.
Cozumel Thrasher and also the Cozumel Emerald
There are many birds to see and worth to mention in the Yucatan. This bird has long been on the “to-watch” list of every bird watcher that has tried his or her bird watching skills from the Yucatan wildlife. They’re the Cozumel Thrasher and the Cozumel Emerald. The Cozumel Thrasher is considered the most endangered avian in the Yucatan. The latest reliable sighting was during a field study in the year 2006.
Long-Billed Thrasher
One other avain specie that is endangered is the Long-Billed Thrasher. Both of them have deep red to deep brown back feathers with black and white spotted breasts. Their unique long tail feathers are a dead gift. While watching birds amongst the Yucatan wildlife, if you find either the Long-Bill Cozumel Thrasher or perhaps the standard Cozumel Thrasher, I highly recommend you tell the best authorities. The simple fact is that it’s the crown jewel of Yucatan birding.
In the event that you are looking to go bird watching in the Yucatan One jungle has some good Bird Watching Tours.

Your cigar humidor is a very important piece of equipment when it comes to taking proper care of your cigars. After all, if you cannot store and age your cigars properly, you will not be able to enjoy their fullest flavor. However, there are a few things that can go wrong with your cigar humidor, and from time to time, you will have to troubleshoot what could be the issue. Consider the hygrometer. This is an important piece of equipment since it will allow you to make sure that your cigars are being stored at the proper humidity.
One of the main things you will need to know about the hygrometer in your cigar humidor is that it will lose calibration from time to time. Because of this, you will need to recognize when the calibration is lost and then recalibrate the device properly. This way, you can make sure you never have a problem with your cigar humidor when it comes to humidification.
If you have a digital hygrometer, you will need salt, distilled water, a small plastic container, and a baggie. Create a mixture of salt and water that is very thick, almost like a paste. You should put that mixture in the small container, and then put the container along with the hygrometer into the baggie. Leave this sitting for a full day to two days. The hygrometer should read 75%. If it does not, you can just calibrate it so that it will function properly.
If you have a digital hygrometer for your humidor, you will need to handle the process a little differently. You will need the following items: a plastic bag, a small open container, salt and water. You will need to mix salt and water to a thick consistency in the small open container. Then, put both the hygrometer and the container in a sealed plastic bag. After a full day, the hygrometer should give you a reading of 75%. If it does not, it has lost calibration and you just need to readjust it to 75%.
Your cigar accessories are really just as important as the cigars themselves. In order to make sure you are able to truly enjoy the cigars and all of their flavors, you need to make sure all of your cigar accessories are working correctly. If your humidor does not seem to be working right, start by troubleshooting and recalibrating the hygrometer.
